As humans, we all have ancestors who lived their lives deeply connected with nature, who crafted tools and clothing from natural materials, who fed and healed themselves from the land, and who collaborated with the people around them as they lived their lives in tune with the seasonal rhythms of the earth. We all carry these ancestral memories within us; they are our shared inheritance.
When we spend time at Firemaker practising earth-based/ancestral skills and living on the land in community, it helps us to feel connected to our wild-selves, each other, nature, and our ancestors & the old ways... And for many, it also sparks a deepened awareness of the future and of future generations, inspiring us to use the skills we’ve learned to live simpler, more sustainable community-oriented lives. So we can contribute to cultivating a healthy culture and planet for future generations to inherit. So we can contribute to being part of the solution.
