What We Do
The Firemaker PSS Council is made up entirely of volunteers who have found the gathering to be a meaningful experience in their lives and who feel compelled to give back and contribute to its future. Council members spend the interim year meeting, planning and executing the week-long gathering.

Being on Council
Being a member of the Firemaker Council is an amazing way to serve the community and also to bring in some fresh ideas to the gathering. It requires time and dedication throughout the year, but it is worth it! There are many perks to being on council - contact us to find out more!
Council shares the workload by committees. The Committees are:
Council members are encouraged to participate in more than one committee.
Council as a whole meets monthly (or bi-weekly as we approach the gathering) between January and June. Since we all live in different areas, these meetings are held via Zoom. Therefore, you must have access to a computer with a reliable internet connection, a microphone and speakers or headphones. There is also one in-person full-weekend meeting in Spring. This meeting is mandatory & may include travel.
Council members are also asked to arrive on Friday evening before the gathering to help organize setup etc, and stay until Sunday after the gathering to coordinate cleanup and for debriefing.
There will be a council call-out in the late summer/fall for the following year's gathering.
Applicants must have attended at least one year as a participant.
