WE ARE FULL FOR CHILDREN AGES 0-12

For the first time in Firemaker history, we have had to cap the number of children attending so as to maintain balance and have enough adults present to properly run the gathering.

We are sorry to have to do this, but it is necessary for us to be able to run Firemaker. We love and value our all ages community, but we must maintain a balance. Thank you for understanding.

Older youth ages 13+ may still register. Please fill out another copy of this registration for each youth attending.

Firemaker is an apolitical organization that brings together a diverse group of people with varying beliefs, ideologies & cultural backgrounds united by our love of sharing, learning and practicing ancestral skills. May what unites us always be more powerful and true than what separates of divides us.

Since 1999, Firemaker has brought people together to learn, teach, practice and share earth based skills. When we gather at Firemaker we create an intentional village in which we honour and respect one another, the land we are staying on, and the community we build. Our ancestors knew how to live well without modern tools and materials. These ways are not yet lost.

In addition to rekindling the old ways, we embrace new approaches to living close to the earth which are in harmony with the old ways. With nature as our classroom, we sing, tell stories around the fire, play games, and learn from our passionate and skilled instructors. Days are filled with activities and workshops, while each evening different community events are offered. Amid the grounding rhythm of village life there is plenty of time to connect with one another, and for solitude.

Throughout the week, delicious organic food is served, simple earth-based ceremonies are held, and friendships are created and renewed. Awareness on another level is sparked, inspiring us to use skills we’ve learned at Firemaker to live simpler, more sustainable lives. We sleep nestled between the trees, to the sound of the river, and we come to know a new rhythm.

Firemaker is an opportunity to connect – to your wild self, to friends waiting to be found, to nature… to our ancestors and the old ways, to a way of being that is not lost.

Please note that Firemaker is an alcohol-free, substance-free event, and there is no smoking, drinking, or drugs (including conciousness altering herbs) permitted on the property during the gathering.
